Affiliated to Gauhati University, we are proud to serve over 1600 students with a commitment to inclusive and quality education.
Our college has proudly undergone NAAC accreditation three times (accredited with B++,A and B+ respectively )reflecting our consistent commitment to quality education.Kamrup College ,Chamata continues to uphold its academic standards while embracing new modes of learning, including KKHSOU ,a dedicated Open and Distance Learning Centre .We aim to foster intellectual growth, critical thinking, and social responsibility among our students.

Kamrup College, Chamata, a premier and one of the oldest institutions of Higher Education in West Nalbari area, was established in the year 1966 (July 25) At present, a provincialised undergraduate College having both the Arts and Science streams. it has traversed almost 59 years of its glorious existence in the field of Higher Education. The institution is indeed grateful to the extraordinary vision and farsightedness of the people of the entire locality whose untiring efforts gave birth to it in the sixties of the last century. The continuous achievements of the college in its journey of nearly five decades,have made all the stakeholders to be proud and help the institution to go fast catering to the needs of an enlightened society of the 21st century. The college has been playing a vital role in the expansion of higher education in the entire Paschim Nalbari area. The college has a glorious past and it has succeeded in producing a large number of brilliant students in University and Council examinations and many of them are well placed in social life. In spite of limited infrastructure, the exemplary perseverance and team-spirit of our faculties and students have strengthen the academic atmosphere to achieve the desired goal of quality education. Now, quality and excellence are the basic needs of Higher Education. Quality higher education is essential organism for socio-economic transformation. Kamrup College, Chamata remains committed to promote all the seven criteria identified by NMC. We were assessed by NAAC in the year 2004 and accredited B+ grade (institutional score 78%). Re-accreditation for the third cycle has been done in 2024 and B+ grade was awarded by the. NAAC It is to be borne in mind that development whether it is in the academic or in the infrastructural aspects is a continuous and never ending process. Brick and mortar alone cannot be equated to quality education. Kamrup College,Chamata has been untiredly marching ahead with its strong mission and vision to achieve the goal of center of excellence in the field of higher education of India.
