Department of political science is one of the oldest departments of the college that started it\'s journey in 1966 along with the establishment of the college. Since then it is trying hard to provide quality education to the students of the area. The department started it\'s journey with late Binay ch. Barman as faculty who later on became the principal of the college. Eminent educationist Sri Rajen Baruah led the department along with Dr. Narayan Sarma and Mr. Hiranya Talukdar. At present there are three permanent faculties in the Department. It publishes an annual Wall magazine and a printed journal. It has got a very strong Alumni Association that holds periodic meeting and supports the department in various ways. Sri Jubin Barman and Sri Nilotpal Talukdar made the Department proud by securing highest mark at undergraduate level under Gauhati University in the year 2017 and 2018 respectively.
